So I haven’t ordered anything yet, but I think I’m starting to narrow it down. I’d appreciate any feedback on how well my dream stash might pan out in reality. I’m trying to cover most everything from newborn to potty time here.
6 kissaluvs hybrid OS contour dipes
6 flip diaper OS covers (I’ve only seen rave reviews, I’d like to rely on these as our primary covers, plus in a pinch we could use the bio-d inserts)
18 Indian prefolds, infants size (hoping we can use on NB, too?)
1 dozen Medium size unbleached flats (backup or maybe I’ll love it, also to fold for inserts or lay under baby, etc.)
12 Bumgenius 3.0 OS–so we could go about 50/50 prefold w cover/AIO
handful snappies
some flushable liners just for convenience/ditto a pack flip inserts
diaper sprayer would be nice
wipes
I’m thinking this will cost around 0 and will hopefully last from newbie to potty champ.
How could I round it out or do I have unnecessary items here? Throw in some dappi pants? Just order the larger prefolds now, too? Maybe some mommy made wool wraps/pants, too. Do I need soakers/doublers or can we just stuff prefolds, plus the BGs come w/ nb and tot inserts.
What do you think, do I have my bases covered here? It sure has been on my mind a lot lately.
The Marvel is a fitted, with a designer print cotton outer, a microfiber soaker inner, and an OBV liner which is all that touches baby’s skin. it is trim and light, but is super absorbent. It is wonderful for day and nighttime use.
Kissaluvs fitted cloth diapers are perfect for any baby. They don’t need safety pins and have a snug fit without binding. Know for their holding ability. Order yours today www.babynaturale.com 1-800-814-8458
Hi!, I’m just stating CDing, I’ve already posted like 10 questions about it… an I really hope this is the last one!! (that would mean that I’ve mastered the arts)… So, after a loong research, I’m choosing the new econobum diaper covers, some kissaluvs and bummies (conclusion: I’m a cover diaper person). My final question is: How do you arrange your cloth diaper routine? It seems as if all the explanation I’ve read from the internet forget one small detail: the baby (where to you put her in the middle of the cleaning, spraying, etc.) I know CDing it’s easier than it seems, but I just haven’t really picture my routine yet and I would really appreciate your help.
I have the changing station on my baby room, and I was planning to set the diaper pail there (dry system), but what do you do with a wet sprayed diaper? Should I have a different pail in the bath room? (there’s not enough room to set the changing station there) do I have to spray it right away? (no way I could do that with a 8 month old baby in my arms).
What do you think? how should I organize my system?
Ok, two more things (see, It seems imposible for me to get the hang of it).
1. How do you get rid of odors?
2. Do you think ebay diaper sprayers (.00 aprox) are good quality?, should I go for the expensive ones? Can I avoid a diaper sprayer?
Ok… do the kushies disposable work with other diapers such as bummies?
Okay- I am new at the cloth diaper game and have been saving up diapers during my pregnancy. So far we have:
9 newborn fitteds (kissaluvs and thirsties)
2 newborn diaper covers
2 small thirsties fitteds
5 small covers
How many more do I need for the beginning? Should I also buy some pockets or all in ones?
I also have some small gdiapers to try out, but am going to try to stick with fitteds/covers at first, though I have heard aios are good for overnight and trips. Is that true?
Any info would be great. I am not buying one size diapers because they do not fit smaller babies. Thanks so much!
I have seen these Kissaluvs and also the bumGenius bottom cleaner. Any experience with these or what is your favorite?
Also, is there anywhere online I can get them cheaper in bulk? The cheapest I found was 12 for 3.40 (.95/diaper)
Do you think the sprinkled baking soda at the bottom of the Wahmies PUL diaper pail bag will destroy the cloth diapers (Bum Genius, prefolds, Fuzzi Bunz, Kissaluvs, or any others)?
How many covers? I’ve read only need about 5-8 for newborn. Why not more? Do they not get wet on the inside? Do you just wipe them out and set aside for next diaper change? What is your favorite brand? I’ve purchased xsmall Thirsties and 1 lite wrap so far.
As for fitteds…they seem cool. I like the colors and ease for sitter and hubby. But why have print if need a cover right? And they can get costly it seems.
Do AIO work ok on newborn or should I wait.
Thanks!
Ok, great answers! Now what about doublers? How many of those should I purchase? What kind of diapers are they used with the most? I have one kissaluvs soaker/doubler.
