i buy size newborn for her (she’s 9days old) and weighs (as of last thursday) 5lb10oz…the problem is her pee always leaks out the side and gets all over her clothes. i have the diaper up pretty high, but there’s still room in the crotch to help prevent rash, the diaper even with the room at the bottom is like half up her back.
does anyone have any tips to make her diaper fit her better? i think the gaps are where her lil’ chicken legs are….i was wondering if i should get the preemie size diapers since those are for babies up to 6lbs.. versus the newborn size is for up to 8lbs..

I read that even johnsons baby wash is not supposed to be used on newborns because it can dry out there skin too much? It says to only sponge bathe babies with water. I’m going to be a first time mom in a few weeks so I’m just double checking.
The straps are currently in the middle position. Do I need to put them in the bottom position for the newborns? How old / what weight were your babies when using each of the shoulder strap positions?
It is the Graco Safeseat, and it is twins, so they will be less than 7 pounds each when I bring them home.
Okay- I am new at the cloth diaper game and have been saving up diapers during my pregnancy. So far we have:
9 newborn fitteds (kissaluvs and thirsties)
2 newborn diaper covers
2 small thirsties fitteds
5 small covers
How many more do I need for the beginning? Should I also buy some pockets or all in ones?
I also have some small gdiapers to try out, but am going to try to stick with fitteds/covers at first, though I have heard aios are good for overnight and trips. Is that true?
Any info would be great. I am not buying one size diapers because they do not fit smaller babies. Thanks so much!
I don’t have any babies, but my husband and I are trying to concieve. Anyway, I’ve done a lot of research on cloth diapers and am seriously considering them because I think they will save us a lot of money.
I’ve figured out that even with the cost of the diapers and laundering we’ll save 00 on our first kid and more than ,000 on every kid after that. (I’m going from birth to potty training) Thankfully, for us, the increase in water usage won’t be an issue because we live in Chicago and here you pay a flat rate no matter how much or how little water you use.
I’m thinking of using Kissaluvs size 0 fitteds http://www.kissaluvs.com/fitted-diapers.php with a cover at first and then transitioning to a one size pocket diaper http://www.kaylasclothkits.com/item_2/KCK-One-Small-Child-Pattern.php (I’ve purchased the pattern will be sewing it)
My question is for all you cloth diapering mom’s how difficult is it to cloth diaper? I am really hoping that I can make it work, because we will save a lot of money and (I believe) cloth is better for baby’s skin.
Also is there anything else that needs to be purchased? I know that special laundry detergents have to be used and one of those sprayers that attaches to the toilet to spray off the poo. But is there anything else that goes into it? Do you like cloth diapering or dislike it and why or why not?
I know I proabably seem like a freak…I just really like to plan!

How much did your children weigh when they were born, what was their head circumference and how long were they?
Were they on time, late or early?
My daughter weighed 7lb 6oz at birth, was 49cm in length and head was 33cm. She was 3 days late.
My son was 7lb 9oz, was 51cm in length and head was 36cm. He was 9 days early.
Would love to hear from all parents because I’ve always been told ive had big babies as most my mates smoked etc in preg and their babys havent been much more then 6.5lb (both girls and boys) but i just wondered bcoz both my kids were on the average line on their growth chart.

Just for the record i didnt smoke or drink in either pregnancy so that could be why they weighed what they did?
im due in 2 wks and i keep hearing all these horrible stories about how bad and miserable its going to be when he is first born because i will never get any sleep and i will never get a break and blah blah… i know that it all depends on how your baby is, and that most babies wake up a lot during the night but is it really THAT bad?
