for those who used washable/reusable diapers?
Im reading about the diapers now and Im finding the choice of one sized diapers. How do these work? fold them down while the baby is small?? Do one sized diapers work as well as buying different sized diapers? As a first time mom, would I prefer differentr sized diapers or one sized diapers do you think? What did you use and what did you prefer?

I agree with visiting the mothering.com/discussions. Their diapering forum is second to none for information on cloth diapering.
I cloth diaper my ds. He is 2.5 and potty training, but he still wears diapers at night. We haven’t used any one size diapers, but it is an idea for future children.
The one size fits all that I have seen all use a snap system that lets you change the size of the diaper as the baby grows. Each diaper is more expensive, but can be used for longer periods of time than simpler prefolds and covers (which is what I use with my ds).
If you are considering them, I would see if there is anyone around you that might be using them. I know that before I moved I was going to host a diaper party for my LLL group and friends. Many of us cloth diapered or were interested in it. It was a way for us to compare and contrast the myriad choices there are in the diapering world.
If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message.
go to http://www.mothering.com/forum and they have a whole section on cloth diapering!! I love cloth diapers!
i used cloth with all three of my kids. they are a wonderful choice and not really as messy as people think. much better for the health of the baby. you can email me at hello_kitty_107@sbcglobal.net and i can tell you everything you need to know. my kids are 9 and 10 now, but i used to do cloth diaper seminars.
it’s been awhile, so i need a minute to think of the name of the diaper covers. oh, yeah…Bummies. they are great! you just lay the diaper in it flat, fold it in thirds, and velcro it up just like a disposable. for nighttime, you should also order the pads they have on the website. you just put one of those in and the baby won’t leak. i know you can purchase cloth diapers at walmart, but i highly reccommend you spend the extra money and get a nice thick set (you will need about 24). i also suggest you use cheap washcloths with warm water instead of wipes. i mean, you are already washing, so just throw them in with the diapers.
Congratulations on making a great choice for your baby. seriously, any questions…please ask.
