Cloth diapering a moving baby?

My daughter is on the verge of being on the move.
I cloth diaper mainly using kissaluvs or prefolds and thirsties wraps. Will these continue to work as well once she’s moving a bit more. I can’t come to love the BumGenius as much because of the long drying time.

Yep! We still use prefolds and our daughter is 17 months….they work just as well as when she was tiny.
When she starts moving you’re going to want to use just regular diapers trust me!
Yeah, they will work just fine…..nothing changes except if you are sitting on the floor to diaper and baby manages to roll over and crawl or run away! haaaaaa……that happened to me more times than I can remember…..good memories though.
If your kissaluvs are fitteds….even if they are contours and you are using a snappi with those and the prefolds and baby manages to get away from you before you get the cover on, it’s okay……either let them run around with just the diaper or chase her down and wrestle the wrap on her.
I quit using cloth on my boys because it was inhibiting their ability to crawl and sit. Just the bulk of them really, and less flexible. The cloth left red marks on them when they sat in their bumbo’s, and made it uncomfortable. They were simply moving better in the disposables also, so were able to crawl earlier without the cloth on. I will be going back to cloth soon since they are both crawling and sitting now but I really think they will work still. I’m not worried about leaks at all, just how they will react to the lack of flexibility. I think since they know how to crawl and sit now though they will continue to do those things despite the lower flexibility of cloth.
I also use prefolds and thirsties wraps. I just don’t see anything getting out of the thirsties.
I still have cloth diapers on my two year old, and I haven’t noticed any problems with mobility. I have also used Thirsties and Bummis covers. I haven’t had a problem with either style cover.
It depends on just how ‘mobile’ she becomes!
I know plenty of women who managed to keep their child in flat fold or prefold cloth successfully when they became mobile, but each of them have said that compared to their children getting a flatfold onto my son was the most traumatising and difficult experience out.
I switched exclusively to pockets when my son started rolling- getting a flat fold on him was a two person job- and that was WITH the tie down belt on the change table adjusted as tightly around him as it would go!
Did you get the ‘all in one’ bumgenius or the true ‘pocket’? The pocket style should NOT take any longer to dry than a prefold does!
Alternatively try fuzzi bunz or happy heiny’s, both of these brands are good.
justsimplybaby.com are great ones. I use them on my 1 and 2 yr old. never leaked. good luck!
