I am not studying it for career purposes, but since I plan to start a family of my own in a few years. I’ve read over twenty books on conception, pregnancy, and newborn care, but now I’d like to take a course. I also have four years in volunteer childcare experience with newborns, but I want something that focus’s more on facts. If going to a community college, what would I look for in that regard?

What does the state of Texas require for newborns after birth? I think it is eye ointment, hep-B shot, and PKU test, is that correct?

Just wondered if I should spend the money on one of those manufactured car seat levelers, or if a rolled up towel works just as well to recline the seat, so a newborns head doesn’t fall forward? Experiences?
Baby car seats are adjustable, but the way some back seats are made, cause the baby car seats to tilt forward and the reclining mechanisms on the baby seats are not enough to correct this and keep a newborns head from falling forward.

I was told that once my daughter reaches 6 months I can start adding Rice Cereal to her formula by her pediatrician. Other Mom’s have recommended added a smidge of Rice Cereal to my newborns feeding at night to hold her over longer in then night. Is this okay? Any other suggestions as to helping her sleep at night?

I read that even johnsons baby wash is not supposed to be used on newborns because it can dry out there skin too much? It says to only sponge bathe babies with water. I’m going to be a first time mom in a few weeks so I’m just double checking.

I am having twins, live in London and don’t have a car. So i’ll need to take them on the bus and on London Underground – negotiating steps and escalators. Help! Tandem or side-by-side? Which brand and model? Advantages and disadvantages? Buggy/pushchair/pram must be usable for 2 newborns which limits the choices – ie Jane Twin or Nipper 360 or mountain buggy etc? Tips from those with personal experience appreciated.

The straps are currently in the middle position. Do I need to put them in the bottom position for the newborns? How old / what weight were your babies when using each of the shoulder strap positions?
It is the Graco Safeseat, and it is twins, so they will be less than 7 pounds each when I bring them home.

How is it possible for newborns to instinctively go to "cry mode" instead of all the other options available? I mean they are newborns and they know nothing about human emotions! Then still they do the crying thing perfectly than anyone else who have practiced the art through years of practice?
